So, I’m currently training for half-marathon with a friend. I’ve done 2 other’s before, and every time I do one I think “that was horrible, I’m never doing that again!”….yet….here I am! Round 3, y’all. Why is running addicting? It’s definitely a love-hate thing. I hate it while I’m doing it, but when I’m not doing it then I miss it. Anyone else feel this way? Am I just crazy? It’s ok, we can be honest here.
I love running because of how I feel after the run, but I have to be super careful about what I eat beforehand. Especially when it comes to those long distance runs! The LAST thing I need is to feel sick when I still have 8-10 miles to knock out. Today, I’m sharing my absolute favorite pre-run breakfast with you guys because it’s THE BEST!
True story: I could probably eat this all day everyday. You might think I’m joking, but the day I made this and photographed it, I literally ate all 4 of the toasts you see here. ALL OF THEM. Pre-workout, post-workout/lunch, afternoon snack, and dessert after dinner. I know I know I know! But guyyyys, just look at it…..
Is Peanut Butter for Breakfast Healthy?
Peanut butter spread on toast, dolloped on top of breakfast bowls or mixed into smoothies is definitely a healthy way to start the day. Peanut butter contains protein and fiber which will give you a nice energy boost and help keep you fuller for longer.
With the addition apples, it gives this peanut butter breakfast toast the most delicious freshness and perfect balance of salty and sweet flavors.
